Human In Circuit documentation
Add a reliable human approval step to an n8n workflow in a few minutes.
Human In Circuit is a mobile review inbox for automated work. n8n submits a review, a person approves, rejects, or edits it from the installed mobile app, and the workflow resumes with the decision.
Fastest path
The recommended first integration is n8n:
- Download and import the Human In Circuit n8n subworkflow.
- Prepare the workflow step whose output needs human review.
- Create one Human In Circuit project for the relevant business area.
- Generate an API key for the project.
- Submit the review and let n8n wait.
- Review it from the installed mobile app.
- Continue the workflow from the callback result.
Not sure what the review should contain? Open the Review playground, choose a use case, edit its API body, and watch the mobile review update in real time.
How the pieces fit together
- Project: groups related agents and workflows inside one business area.
- Agent and workflow: identify what produced each review.
- API key: authenticates n8n. Every API key belongs to exactly one project.
- Project key: a permanent, readable identifier such as
customer-support. It is returned by the API and callbacks so you can distinguish projects. - Review ID: identifies one individual review.
- Callback: sends the completed decision back to n8n.
- Polling: lets an application retrieve the completed decision later.
